Alvin Dwain Sachs Alvin Dwain Sachs, of Silva, MO, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the age of 69. He was born in Boonville, MO on August 14, 1947 to the late William Nelson and Marjorie Irene (Cortman) Sachs. On October 20, 1996 he married Ila Mae Atkins, who survives. Dwain was a Godly man with integrity and honor. He attended Duke University and graduated from Missouri State University-Springfield and Eden Theological Seminary. In addition to achieving three Masters Degrees, he continued to study throughout his life including the study of Hebrew, Greek and other biblical studies. Dwain began his professional career as a parole and probation officer and advanced to the position of Assistant Superintendent of the Missouri Department of Probation and Parole in St. Louis. After investing in real estate, he left his first career and devoted the rest of his life to actively investing and counseling others in real estate, stocks and other financial investments. Dwain lived a Godly life as a living testimony and an example for his family to follow. Mr. Sachs will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife, Ila Sachs, of Silva, MO; two children, Laura Sachs and David Sachs, of the greater St. Louis area; a sister, Joyce Timmons and her husband Robert Timmons, of Siloam Springs, AR; and a brother, Aaron Sachs and his wife Shelly Sachs, of Springfield, MO; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and dear friends. A graveside service for Alvin Dwain Sachs will be held at 2 pm. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Macedonia Cemetery in rural Rolla. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Wednesday, April 19th from 1 pm - 1:45 pm at the Null and Son Funeral Home, 1010 Kingshighway, Rolla, MO 65401. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Rev. William Nelson Sachs Memorial Scholarship Fund at Evangel University.
