Aloysius A. "Al" Gruszynski
Gruszynski, Aloysius A. "Al" Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, was called home by his Heavenly Father on his birthday, Wednesday April 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 85. He was born April 19, 1932 in Bay City to the late Anthony and Stephanie (Stefanski) Gruszynski. Al served in the U.S. Army from January 4, 1952 October 3, 1953 and fought bravely in the Korean War. He worked at Rush Stationers for many years before retiring on March 31, 1994. Al then worked for Ambrose and Squires Funeral Homes and was a dedicated employee for over 23 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish St. Hyacinth Church. Al belonged to the K of C St. Stephen Council #4102, the Bishop Murphy Assembly 4th Degree and was a past Faithful Navigator. He also belonged to the P.L.A.V. and the St. George Society. Al enjoyed hunting, fishing, but truly treasured his time with his children and his granddaughter. Surviving is his former wife Rita and their three children, Karen Gruszka; Lena Gruszka; Daniel (Paith) Gruszynski; and his granddaughter, Radia Amber Gruszynski. Also surviving is his brother, Frank (Billie) Gruszynski; a sister, Germaine Bohn; a sister in-law, Myra Gruszynski; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert and Richard Gruszynski and a brother in-law, Maynard Bohn. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish St. Hyacinth Church. Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. There will be Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veteran's Council at 6:30 p.m. Friday followed by a Vigil Service, a Chalice Ceremony and a Bible Presentation by the K of C at 7:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes. www.ambrosefuneralchapel.com
