Rosen, Allan J. Allan J. Rosen of Weston, FL and formerly of Trumbull, CT passed away on October 11, 2016. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Racheal Lavigne Rosen and three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey (Ashley) Rosen of Louisville, KY, Daniel (Beverly) Rosen of Trumbull, CT, and Matthew Rosen of Denver, CO; his grandchildren, Samantha, Alyssa, Brett and Molly Rosen; as well as a sister-in-law, Rose (John) Horvat of Lumberton, NC and brother-in-law Lawrence (Eva) Lavigne of Weekiwachee, FL. He is further survived by nephews, Michael (Christina) Horvat, Patrick (Andrea) Horvat and nieces Krista (Christopher) DelGais and Michelle Horvat. Mr. Rosen was brought up in Milford, CT. He participated in baseball and football until injuries cut short his participation. He then became an ardent tennis player and was a founder of the Easton Racquet Club. Mr. Rosen received his degree from Milford Prep School, his B.A. in 1958 from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Mr. Rosen served as of counsel to the law firm of Cohen and Wolf of Bridgeport, CT and was a member of the firms' Real Estate and Business & Corporate Groups. Mr. Rosen practiced law in Connecticut for more than 50 years and had extensive experience in the areas of commercial lending and residential and commercial real estate. He was involved in the negotiation, design and documentation of commercial loan transactions, restructurings and workout arrangements. Since 1972 he represented financial institutions in all aspects of banking law, including bank formation, acquisitions, mergers and regulatory work. Mr. Rosen also dealt with general commercial and real estate matters including leasing and UCC. Mr. Rosen was previously a principal with the firm of Kleban & Samor in Southport, CT. Mr. Rosen was admitted to practice in Connecticut. He was a member of the Bridgeport, Connecticut and American Bar Associations and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Banking Section of the Connecticut Bar Association. Mr. Rosen has been a member of the Easton, CT Zoning Board of Appeals and served as its Chairman until his retirement from the Board. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of UST Bank/Connecticut, was a member of the National Panel of Arbitrators and the American Arbitration Association, and was a past President of the Housatonic Community College Foundation of Bridgeport, CT.
