WELCH Alexandra, passed away on January 6th at the age of 30. Alexandra is survived by her parents Robert and Teresa, brother Matthew, and aunt and uncle Charleen and Larry Szenyi. Alex's compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Anyone who encountered her, from old friend to new, felt the warmth she brought to a conversation. She could light up a room with her liveliness and spirit, and turn a group of strangers into a group of friends in the course of a single afternoon. This same compassion and empathy led Alex towards a career of service for those less fortunate. As an educator at the New England Center for Children and the May Institute in Boston, Alex worked with autistic youth for over six years. Her patience and dedication led to the betterment of dozens of lives, from the children she worked with to their family and friends. As a devoted lover of animals, Alex was a joy to the Welch family's dogs, and any pet she encountered. Alex graduated from Ramsey High School in 2004, and graduated with a Bachelor's in psychology from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts in 2008. She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 2-5 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ.
