In memory of
Albert Michael Contreras
February 10, 2017 Albert Michael Contreras of San Antonio, Texas, was born March 1, 1950. He peacefully entered into eternal life with our Heavenly Father on Friday February 10, 2017. He is reunited with his loving parents; Albert and Julia Contreras. He devoted his life to ensure they had the best care. He is survived by his only brother Ronald Oscar Contreras and wife Gloria; niece Staci and husband Brandon, and great niece Anisa. He shared his last breath with his wife of 45 years, Minerva and their 3 adoring children: Kimberly and husband Sal, Michael and wife Esmeralda, William and wife Lisa, and their beautiful grandchildren; Jacob, Gabriel, Evelyn, Olivia, and baby William. "Mike," as everyone knew him, was a proud Luther Burbank High School graduate of 1968. He was an amazing track star and was awarded a scholarship to the University of Houston. He remained an avid runner up until 5 years go. He would run up to 18 miles, 3 times per week. He would start at the Burbank track, run to Espada Dam and back to Burbank. He instilled his love of running in his wife and 3 children; all of whom ran track as well. Mike was a proud UTSA Roadrunner Alumni. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He "gently" en-FORCED the importance of education, discipline, respect, loyalty, honesty, and most of all family and spirituality. He encouraged Kimberly, Michael and William, to follow in his footsteps as UTSA Alumni. He was our rock. He was the most honest man you would ever encounter. He was the smartest man we ever knew. He was our hero. He was either running, playing guitar, singing, reading history books or airplane magazines. He was a faithful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved "jamming" with Johnny and Johnny. Johnny Ramirez and Johnny Esparza. Thank you for always being there for our father and us. We will continue to hear you sing, your encouraging words, and your laugh echoes in our mind and in our hearts. We love you Daddy, thank you. FUNERAL SERVICES Visitation will begin Thursday at 5:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M.
