Adele Irene (Lindeman) Thomas
Adele Irene Lindeman Thomas, daughter of Louis H. and Anna M. Lindeman, was born November 10, 1932 in Sheridan County, KS and died peacefully on April 15th 2017. She was a graduate of Grinnell High School in Grinnell, Kansas and the Aeronautical and Technical Institute, majoring in radio and communications, in Omaha, Nebraska. She was also a graduate of United Airlines Stewardess School in Cheyenne, Wyoming and was employed by United Airlines for 5 years. Adele served 4 years as secretary/treasurer of UAL Clipped Wings in Philadelphia. She served on the Junior Board of Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware for 12 years. After devoting much of her life to raising her two children, Adele returned to the work force in both the banking and insurance industries. Adele was a very caring and thoughtful person who enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was an avid bridge player, seamstress, golfer, and loved to travel. She cherished the time spent with her family especially at the annual beach trip. She is survived by her children Lisa (Mark) Bridges of Heath Springs, SC and Eric (Karen) Thomas of Woodstock, GA.; six grandchildren, Matthew (Beverly) Bridges of Columbia, SC, Grant Thomas (Ashley) of Acworth, GA, Andrew Bridges of Cayce, SC , Ansley (Derek) Rich of Atlanta, GA, William Bridges of Greenville, SC and Landon Thomas of Woodstock, GA; sister Rita Beckman, brothers Dennis (Helen) and Bob Lindeman and sister-in-law Alice Lindeman who all reside in western Kansas. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Oliver (Vi), Dyke, Raymond Lindeman and sister Ann (Bud) Anderson. A private celebration of her life will be in May on Hilton Head Island.
