Adam Schuy Jr.
Adam Schuy Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday evening on April 15th, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Bernette; six children, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Born in Yugoslavia on May 4th, 1938, Adam immigrated to the United States with his grandmother, father, mother, and older brother when he was sixteen. His family resided in Chicago, Illinois where Adam attended Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School. After graduating, he apprenticed at Temple Steel as a machinist and worked his way up to tool and die maker. Adam proudly earned his U.S. Citizenship on December 2nd, 1958. On August 8th, 1959, Adam married his high school sweetheart Bernette Clara Heppner. Together they had six children, Jeannette, Mark, Andrew, Jennifer, Lawrence, and Michelle, while still residing in Chicago. In 1972 the family moved to San Jose, California and began attending Holy Family Catholic Church where Adam was very active as an usher. Five years later the family moved to Linda and began their long relationship with St. Isidore Catholic Church. Adam served as a lecturer, assisted with RCIA, and was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. He finished his career as a master tool and die maker at Woodmack Products Incorporated and retired in 2003. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 20th, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Holycross Memorial Services. During the viewing, a rosary will be said for Adam starting at 6:00 pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Friday, April 21st, 2017. There will be a reception following the mass. Send Condolences to www.appealdemocrat.com
