In memory of
A. Donn Kesselheim
Alan Donn Kesselheim died in peace and comfort at Bear Creek Respite Care Center in Bozeman, Montana on Oct. 15, 2016. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. Donn was born in Billings, Montana, in 1927, to Bernard and Bernice Allen Kesselheim. He went to school in Billings and spent summers on the family ranch in Nye. Donn carried a love for the river and mountain landscapes of his youth, and he sought these elements in all of his later homes. After a long and varied career in education, Donn and his wife, Chelsea, settled in Lander, Wyoming, where they developed a rich community. For 30 years they contributed as teachers, environmentalists, social activists, and Quakers. After Chelsea died in 2013, Donn struggled to maintain his home in Lander, but eventually moved to Bozeman in 2015. For the year and a half that Donn called Bozeman home, he resided at Bear Creek Respite, where he received exceptional care and support and benefited from being near to his son, Alan Kesselheim and his family. His son, Craig, and daughter, Ann Noel, also visited him regularly. Donn lived by his principles, dared to imagine change, and leaves an inspiring legacy for those who came in contact with him. His life will be remembered and his lasting spirit cherished. Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. www.dokkennelson.com
