Miriam Ann (Latimer) McClary
Miriam Ann McClary, 98, of Naples, Fl., passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Avow Hospice House in Naples. Services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Watson Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St. S., Independence, Mo. 64055. Private family burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to Christ UMC. Miriam was born September 16, 1919, in Independence, Mo., to John Riley and Grace (Vale) Latimer and was a longtime Independence residence graduating from William Chrisman in 1937. Miriam was a beloved wife mother and homemaker who enjoyed her family and serving the Lord. She and her husband were founding members and faithful volunteers of Christ UMC. She was married in 1940 to George McClary and enjoyed 73 years of marriage until he passed in 2013. Survivors include; a daughter, Jane Guyton and husband Rick of Naples, FL; 3 grandchildren, Patrick L. Guyton and wife Kristin, Shane P. McClary and wife Lynn and Lori L. Starr and husband David and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James R. McClary. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.speakschapel.com.
