Mildred Faye Voegel Evansville, IN Mildred Faye (Bullock) Voegel, 91, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital surrounded by family. Mildred was born April 13, 1927 in Cynthiana, IN to the late Leland and Mae (Poole) Bullock. She and her husband Leonard had owned and operated Select Homes, Inc. She was a wonderful pianist and enjoyed performing for others. She played the piano at St. Wendel Catholic Church where she had been a member and also for the residents and church services at Holiday Village. Mildred and her husband Leonard enjoyed hosting Christmas parties at their home where she would play the piano and family and friends would sing along. She also taught piano lessons to many people. Mildred was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. She spent the last few years as a very active resident of Holiday Village. She and her husband Leonard enjoyed traveling. Surviving Mildred are her daughter, Cathy (John) Voegel Helfrich Martin and two sons, Terry (Becky) Voegel of Evansville and Leonard F. (Laurie Ewers) Voegel, II; grandchildren, Kristina (Patrick) Voegel Parson, Steve (Cindy) Voegel, Jennifer (Michael) Helfrich Blackmon, Stephanie (Evan) Helfrich Freeman, Peter Helfrich, Miranda Voegel, and Frank (Keri) Voegel; great grandchildren, Mitchell, Logan, Hunter and Hayden Blackmon, Ella, Dane, Alec and Tess Freeman, Jack, Layla, Claire and Molly Helfrich, Elizabeth, Jacob and Lydia Voegel, Katie Parson, Lucy and Milly Voegel; step grandchildren, Mindy (Rocky Peppers) Martin, Amy (Ryan) Martin Streete, Chad (Alison) Martin, Katie (Harold) Martin Graff; step great grandchildren, Joshua and Mia Perkins, Austen, Presten and Easten Streete, C.J. and Avery Martin, Cooper and Levi Graff, Kierra and Brendon Peppers and Jessica and Stephanie Wilson. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Leonard Voegel in 2014 and by a brother, Thomas Bullock. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Rev. Jason Gries officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Wendel Catholic Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street and from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Children's Hospital.
