Melanie S. Griffin TRENTON Melanie S. Griffin, 67, of Trenton passed away Aug. 5, 2017, at home. Born in Boulder, CO, she grew up in Woodstown, NJ. Melanie was last employed as an attorney by the State of NJ- Dept. of Mental Health. She was an advocate for woman's rights, developing anti-discrimination policy for the state on domestic violence. She held degrees from the University of Delaware, B.S. in Math and M.S. in counseling. She graduated first in her class at Rutgers University Law School in Newark and was editor of the Women's Law Review. Daughter of the late Dale Griffin, she is survived by her son, Griffin Walker, her mother, Letty Griffin; siblings, Diana, David and Cary Griffin. An Evensong Service of Celebration for Melanie's Life will be held at St. Luke Episcopal Church, 1620 Prospect St., Ewing, NJ, on Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. Memorial fifts in Melanie's name should be sent to: Disciple Food Pantry, Asbury Methodist Church, 149 Main St., Woodstown, NJ 08098.
