Max A. Chacon
Max passed away peacefully December 28, 2018 at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family. He was 93 years old, born October 2, 1925 to Jose Avedon Chacon and Rosa Vigil Chacon in Walsenburg, CO. He served proudly in the US Navy in World War II at Pearl Harbor in 1941. He returned to Walsenburg and met and married the love of his life Joyce M. Romero in 1958. His first daughter Josslyn was born in 1960. They moved to Durango and had a second daughter Josette in 1963. He was always smiling, joking, and making everyone laugh. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters Josette Chacon (Moses) and Josslyn Bobian (Dan). His granddaughters Latoya Mestas (Charles), and Becky Bobian. Grandsons Dane Mestas, Louis and Thomas Bobian. Great-grandchildren Marcos Martinez, Ana Vazquez, and Mario Pena. Numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose Avedon Chacon and Rosa Vigil Chacon. Brothers Tellos James (Jimmy), Walter, and Conrad. Sisters Viola Chacon-Hall and Amelia Chacon-Johnson. Grandson Rafael Ricardo Bobian. A rosary will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 5 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
