MARY BOYD BOLTE, was born July 21, 1936 and died October 4, 2016. She is survived by: daughters, Hanna Bolte and Lisa Storms and son, Boyd Bolte, a grandson, Maximilian Bolte. Born to Jim and Ella Boyd in Mansfield, OH, she passed away of pneumonia and heart failure from complications after a hip replacement in Clermont, Florida. Mary Bolte was born in Mansfield, Ohio to Jim and Ella Boyd, one of three daughters. A graduate of Mansfield High school, she attended Northwestern University and The Ohio State University, where she earned both her B.A. and Masters in Education. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and lived in Mansfield, OH until she retired and moved to Clermont, FL in 2000. A lifelong educator, she began her teaching career in Hawaii and continued working in education until her retirement in August of 2016 at the age of 80 from the Minneola Charter School. An author, artist, and active, healthy woman, she had a large and loving family and was known for her commitment to the education of children. She was known for her whimsical and Florida-centric Christmas cards and remained active in her Kings Ridge community. Her passing was a surprise to all. Memorial services were held in Oahu, Hawaii and Clermont, FL. Donations can be made in Mary Boyd Bolte's name to The Ohio State University, College of Education's Early Childhood Literacy fund and Kahuku High & Intermediate School in Kahuku, HI.
