ALFORD, Marlin Leslie Marlin Leslie Alford, 82 , of Kaufman, Texas passed away January 7, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. He was born August 18, 1936, to Herman L. Alford and Linnie Lee Alford in Lufkin, Texas. He married Dorothy Kennedy on April 25, 1958 in Houston, Texas. He was a Medical Researcher, Inventor. He was a Master Mason of Reagan Lodge 1037, Life member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, and a citizen of the Sovereign Cherokee Nation Tejas. He served in the United States Army from December 3, 1954 - December 2, 1962 as a SSM Launching Crewman. A brilliant man who loved his wife of over 60 years, fiercely loved his entire family, a great spoiler of grandchildren, mentor and friend to many. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Dorothy Kennedy Alford of Kaufman, Texas, daughters; Mindee Ann Alford of Terrell, Texas, Sandra Yvonne Bray and husband Gary of Forney, Texas, and Judy Elaine Jones and husband Steven of Kaufman, Texas, brothers; Donald Fred Alford of Rogers, Texas, Dale Alford of Bedias, Texas and Ronald Wayne Alford of San Antonio, Texas, Grandchildren Mark and Valerie Whitley, Samuel and Lana Carroll, Jason and Felicia Ransom, Leslie and Courtney Carroll, Ryan Alford and Ronnie Jones, and great-grandchildren; Sophie, Andrew, Aidan, Katelynn, Karlie, Keegan-Ray, Declan, Hailey and Katelyn. Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at Restland Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Visitation will be Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be following the funeral service at Restland Memorial Park, Garden of Memories.
