Margaret C. Johnson HIGH BRIDGE Margaret C. Johnson, age 97, longtime resident of High Bridge, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at Little Brook Nursing Home in Califon, NJ. She was born on Dec. 7, 1921, in Easton, PA. Margaret was the daughter of the late John and Helen Cooper Shoemaker. Her husband, Charles S. Johnson, passed away in 1990 after 50 years of marriage. She was a lifelong member of the High Bridge United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of The Eastern Star of New Jersey Hobart Chapter No. 63 in High Bridge. Margaret enjoyed reading, being a homemaker and spending time with her family. Survivors include one daughter, Margaret DeProspero and her husband, Tony, of High Bridge; two grandchildren, Robin Parker and her husband, John, of Middlesex, NJ, and David Roberts and his wife, Lynn, of Monmouth Beach, NJ; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Wells, Jonathan Wells, Emily Roberts and Abigail Roberts; and one nephew; Jerry Clark of California. She was predeceased by one sister, Elizabeth Cooney. Calling hours will be Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m., with Eastern Star Services at 7 p.m. Funeral will take place Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at 10 a.m., all at Naughright-Scarponi Funeral Home, 66 Main St., High Bridge, NJ. Interment is at Musconetcong Valley Cemetery in Hampton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to High Bridge United Methodist Church, 36 Church St., High Bridge, NJ, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
