Madeline Teresa Grimm, age 93, passed peacefully into the arms of her savior on April 8, 2019. Maddie, as she is often called, was born July 4, 1925 in Blair County, PA to the late Christina Yates and Luigi Diodato and was the widow of Clarence (Jack) Grimm. She attended William Penn High School in Harrisburg and was a retired bank teller from PNC Bank. Maddie had an artistic side and was famous for painting porcelain dolls, ceramics and other cherished items. Her love of baking gave her the title of champion pie baker with her family, friends and church. Maddie was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where she volunteered each year to make Easter eggs. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Anna and Angeline and her brothers Frank, Fred, Ralph and Archie. Surviving are her daughters Linda Carchidi and husband James, Joan Lenker and her husband Terry, and son Edward and wife Donna. She leaves behind three grandchildren, Jennifer Zampogna, James Carchidi and Kelley Grimm and three great grandchildren, Dominic, Isabella and Caitlyn, who fondly called her Grammy and whom she adored and loved dearly. Viewing will be held Wednesday, April 10 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 11, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 310 Hertzler Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.
