M. KENNETH MORRIS
age 76, of Kent, unexpectedly passed from the loving arms of his family and friends to the loving arms of his God on Thursday January 10, 2019. Ken is survived by his wife, Linda (ne Gillespie) Morris; his children, Charity (Joseph), Heather, Holly (Michael), Hunter (Mary); and 8 grandchildren. Ken was born June 10, 1942 in Massillon, OH to Harold James Morris and Ruth Marion Morris. He was a graduate of The College of Wooster, Master of Divinity Methodist Theological School of Ohio, and Dr. of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He served as a minister with churches in Ohio, Qubec, and Vermont with The United Methodist Church, The United Church of Canada, and The United Church of Christ for 55 years. His life was one of devotion and service to his family and to the congregations that he served. He celebrated 52 years of marriage with Linda, his best friend and soulmate. They found pleasure in traveling, camping, reading, writing, genealogy, creating stained glass art and especially spending time with family. In recent years their hours on the peaceful lake, where they have lived, brought great joy. Calling hours will be held January 14, 2019 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent from 5:00-7:00 PM. A service of celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Brooklyn Heights UCC at 10:00 AM, preceded by an hour of visitation. Burial will be at Massillon Cemetery.
