Lucille Flood Ewing Norfolk, VA - 92, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on February 7, 2018. Born in Springfield, TN, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. & Tommie A. Flood. She was predeceased by her husband, MCPO Joe D. Ewing, USN (Ret.), & siblings, Floy A. Hale & Wallace L. Flood. Lucille was a graduate of Springfield High School in Tennessee and a longtime member of Norview United Methodist Church. She retired in 1986 as a Budget Officer for the Department of Defense. Lucille was an avid reader and loved to play mahjong, bridge and other card games. But most of all she loved and was devoted to her family. Survivors include her son, Mark C. Ewing and wife, Dianne; 3 grandchildren whom she adored: Christy D. Ewing, Jennifer C. Ewing, & Joseph M. Ewing; 4 nieces: Linda A Nonken, Ruskin, FL, Rebecca M. Jones, McMinnville, TN, Patricia L. Short, Cedar Hill, TN, and Joyce L. Pecina, Shiloh, IL; and several great nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends at the Tidewater Drive Chapel of Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 8464 Tidewater Dr., Norfolk, VA, on Sunday, February 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
