Louis Robert Porter Nov. 30, 1943 - Jan. 6, 2020 Louis Robert Porter passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife of 43 years, Kathy and his three children, Doug, of Sherwood and Bobbi (Todd) Chamberlain, of Goldendale, Wash., and Jenifer (Larry) McVicker, of Oregon City, Ore. Lou was born in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Floyd and Bernice Porter and had three siblings Russell, Kathy and Barb; all of whom predeceased him. Lou graduated from high school in Grandview, Wash., and married Marda Graybeal: they later divorced. He served in the Air Force. After his discharge, he settled in Portland, where he grew a successful agency with Farmer's Insurance. Lou was an avid fisherman and horticulturalist. Lou met the love of his life, Kathy (McDevitt) and they married Oct. 1, 1976. Lou also had five grandchildren, Joshua, Courtney, Jordan, Devyn and Ian; as well as three great-grandchildren. Recitation of the rosary starts at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, with the funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 417 Washington St., Oregon City. A reception will follow Mass in the Parish Hall. Private interment will he held at Willamette National Cemetery at a later date.
