In memory of
Lori Marx-Rubiner, 51, of Encino, California, died of metastatic breast cancer on August 2, 2017. Lori was born in Chicago on July 26, 1966, and grew up in Arlington Heights. She graduated from the University of Illinois; received a MSW from the University of Southern California; and a MAJCS and honorary Ph.D. from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. Lori had a career in the Los Angeles Jewish Community and retired due to health issues in 2014. Thereafter, Lori dedicated herself to breast cancer advocacy and research. Lori is survived by her husband (John Rubiner), son Zachary Rubiner, parents Michael and Sandy Marx, sister Cori Marx, brother Aaron (Stacy) Marx, sisters-in-law Judith (Ron) Kaye and Kathy (Ron) Sonenthal, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral is on August 6, 2017 in Simi Valley, California. In lieu of flowers, donations to www.cancerbase.org are appreciated.
