Loren Ray Smith December 22, 1925-February 11, 2020 MUSTANG Loren Ray Smith, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, after a short illness. He was born in the vicinity of SW 44th and Mustang Road in Mustang, OK. Loren was a Mustang High School graduate before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1944, fighting in the South Pacific. He met Wilma at Joe's Drive-In and married her 3 years later in 1952. Loren worked for South-western Bell for 37 years and continued to work after for many years doing contract work. He was a cattle rancher, gardener, city councilman and OSU, Thunder and Dallas Cowboys fan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pat & Eva Smith and his wife, Wilma. Loren is survived by 3 children: Michael & his wife, Teresa, Randy and daughter, Carolyn Hudson and her husband Jim. Loren is also survived by 4 grandkids: Ryan Patrick and wife Jess, Cody and wife Becca, Will and wife Tavia, and Brent. He is also survived by 5 great grandkids: Madison, Sydney, Leah, Loren Reece and Bryce Ray. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Mustang Kiwanis Club Food Pantry. Funeral services are set for 2:00pm Friday, February 14, 2020, at the United Methodist Church of Mustang under the direction of McNeil's Funeral Service, Mustang, OK. Interment will follow in Mustang Cemetery.
