Lloyd G. Camp
Lloyd Gilbert Camp, 85, of Meriden, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018. Lloyd was born in Meriden on Jan. 25, 1933, a son of the late Edward C. Camp, Jr., and Loretta Johnson Camp. He was known for his talent of playing the guitar and singing western songs. He was a machinist at Thompson Candy, then Walbro Co., until retiring in 1995. Lloyd was a proud Korean War Army veteran, a member of the Antique Veterans of Meriden, and Heritage Baptist Church of Wallingford. He is survived by two daughters, Lynn M. Camp and Linda A. Camp, of Meriden, six grandchildren, Latasha, Jessica, Olivia, Monica, Danielle, and Lloyd, Sr.; four great-grandchildren, Damariki, Joshua, Jacob, and Lloyd Jr., four sisters, Margaret Harper, Juliette Camp, Loretta W. Watson, and Cheryl (Roy) Byrd; and one brother, Eugene Camp. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Camp Jr. and Frederick Camp. A Home Coming Celebration Memorial Service followed by Military Honors will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m., at Heritage Baptist Church, 161 S. Whittlesey Ave., Wallingford. Burial will be private. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven, has been entrusted with arrangements.
