NORTHFIELD - Lewis Ralph Peake, 80, died Aug. 25, 2018, at Mayo Residential Care in Northfield. He was born March 9, 1938, in Northfield, the son of Ben and Bernice (Wiley) Peake. He graduated in 1957 from Northfield High School. Mr. Peake served in the Vermont Army National Guard from 1955 to 1964, as a rifleman in the weapon squad. After high school, he was employed at Nantanna Woolen Mill until it closed in the early 1960s. He then worked as a carpenter in Waitsfield and later, in the Norwich University maintenance department, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed being at Mayo Assisted Living where he was known as the "Bingo Champion of Mayo." Survivors include a sister, Mary Peake Swann, a nephew, two nieces and cousins. Mr. Peake was predeceased by his half-brother, Lawrence Chambers. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Kingston Funeral Home in Northfield.
