In memory of
Leroy Bernard Niemeyer, 74, of Perry, Mo., formerly of Columbia, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Clements Catholic Church in St. Clements, Missouri at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, June 30. Interment will follow at St. Clements Catholic Cemetery in St. Clements. Leroy was born August 9, 1943, to Harry and Viola (Geujen) Niemeyer in Louisiana, Mo. He attended school in Bowling Green, Mo., graduating in 1961. Leroy served in the Navy during the Cuban Crisis. After the navy, he worked construction and farming. He owned American Craft Industries, in Columbia, for 32 years. After retiring, he moved to Perry. Leroy was a gregarious fellow who made everyone laugh and had many friends. He was loved by everyone he met. He loved cruisin' in his "47 Koop", quail hunting, and fishing. He is survived by one brother; Ralph (Markie) Niemeyer of Bowling Green, nephews; Randall Niemeyer, of Bowling Green, Mike (Amie) Niemeyer of Columbia, Larry Niemeyer II of Paris, nieces; Susan (Chuck) Ausfahl of Columbia, Lisa (Mark) Wise of Curryville, special great-niece; Meridyth Wise, along with other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother; Larry Niemeyer. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Clements Cemetery.
