In memory of
Leonard Goldberg, of Manalapan, FL, died on July 24, 2018, at age 91. Born in Jersey City, NJ. A WWII Navy Veteran, he graduated NYU on the GI Bill. Together with his partners in Miami, FL, he co-founded and grew Pix Shoes into a multi-state chain. The granddaddy of the discount shoe business his stores were incorporated into the Payless Shoe Company. He retired to build chains of discount shoe stores for South African and Central American companies. Always a creator, his gardens and birdhouse are legend. He is survived by his wife Donna Schneier, sons Steve Goldberg (Licia) and Marc Schneier (Simi), daughter Karen Dresbach, grandsons Joshua Goldberg (Lindsey), Sam Goldberg, Brendan Schneier, granddaughters Lauren Newman (Ross) Lindsey Dresbach, Casey Dresbach, Brooke Schneier, great-grandchildren Mya Goldberg, Levi Goldberg and Emma Newman. He was predeceased by sons Leigh Goldberg and Kenneth Goldberg. A private service will be held for family. A Celebration of his Life will be held in January of 2019.
