Leola Witty, 98, passed this life on Sept. 6, 2014. Leola was born Sept. 28, 1915, in Metcalfe County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Vontras and Irene Shirley. She is survived by one daughter, Maedell Wallace and husband Ed of Edmonton, Ky. and formerly of Hoopeston; two sisters, Margaret Vibbert, of Summer Shade, Ky., and Lougene Wooten, of Whiteland, Ind.; grandchildren: Ann Wallace, of Edmonton, Ky., Eddie Wallace and wife Marilyn, of Sarasota, Fla.; four great-grandchildren: Richard Carder, and Sarah Carder, of Edmonton, Ky., Erik Wallace and Taylor Wallace, of Sarasota, Fla.; one great-great grandson, Joshua Brueggeman, son of Sarah Carder, of Edmonton, Ky; two special nephews, Delbert Vibbert, of Summer Shade, and Ricky Carter, of Jacksonville, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale Witty, special Aunt and Uncle Volney and Daisey Shirley, two brothers' in law Clarence Vibbert, and James Wooten. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, Ky. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Randolph, Ky.
