In memory of
William Mellen "Bill" Brown
William Mellen Brown III, 62, of Fort Bragg, passed away peacefully on Jan. 26, 2020, at his home on Mitchell Creek Drive. Born in Fort Bragg to William and Lucille Brown on July 10, 1957, he lived on the coast his entire life, went to Fort Bragg schools, and worked very hard as a mechanic at Baxman Gravel as well as for Akeff Karen and Jeff Green. During his retirement, Bill liked lottery scratchers, going to the casinos, working at his work shop, visiting with both Mike Chambers and Renny Bradley plus his many other friends. But one of his very favorite activities was to ride his quad with Doug, his brother, on the sand dunes in Oregon. Billy also enjoyed breakfasting at David's Deli where he visited with the waitresses and other friends. Bill also loved eating biscuits and gravy with his brother, Doug, at Cordy's Home Style Cafe. Bill was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Elizabeth; and his parents, William and Lucille Brown. Bill is survived by his sisters, Marsha (Charles) Moton, Rachael (Mike) Burgett, Tina (Ron) Grapp, Marjory Brown; his brother and best friend, Douglas (Monica) Brown; plus many other family members; and, not to forget, his little dog, Reva. Bill was very much loved and will be very much missed. SWEET DREAMS RIDING THE DUNES, BILLY BOY! There will be no funeral services.
