Ruth A. Forsythe Ruth A. Forsythe, 94, formerly of South Easton, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 ,in ManorCare, Palmer Township. Born Aug. 26, 1925, in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (Thompson) Lake. She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter S. Miller Jr., in 1945, and her second husband of 32 years, Rossie W. Forsythe Sr., in 1990. Ruth retired in 1987, from Easton Area School District where she was a custodian at Cheston Elementary School for 20 years. Previously, she had worked in factories during World War II and was a housekeeper in private homes. She enjoyed playing cards, games and bingo. Ruth was a member of New Creation United Church of Christ. She had been a member of the former St. Peter's United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Mother's Club and Women's Guild. She was a life member of Rice Ebner American Legion Auxiliary Unit 588. Surviving are two sons, Wayne S. Miller of Palmer Township and Ross W. Forsythe Jr. of Easton; a grandson, Preston and his wife, Autumn; a great-grandson, Benjamin; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by three brothers, Aza M. Lake, George Lake and Elwood "Hunter" Lake and three sisters, Evelyn Osborne, Naomi Kelchner and Lavinia Lake. Due to the coronavirus, private graveside services will be held in Hay's Cemetery under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Easton. Offer online condolences at strunkfh.com .
