Lawrence Robert 'Larry' Yakel Sept. 15, 1942 - Jan. 2, 2019 Lawrence Robert "Larry" Yakel went to be with our Lord Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 at his home in Milwaukie from complications of ALS. He was 76 years old. Larry was born Sept. 15, 1942 in Portland. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1960. He retired from the beverage industry, starting his career in 1963. He was a member of Teamsters Local 162. For 37 years, he was a member of Tri-City Baptist Temple congregation. He was a fan of a variety of sports, western movies, and his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Leota Ann Yakel; his sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Ralph Sirianni; daughter, Lesley Schreiter, daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Bruce Koch; and six granddaughters, MacKenzie, Madelynn, Meghan, Eleanor, Marie and Abigail. He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Orrie Morrison. A viewing will be held from Noon to 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Rose City Cemetery and Funeral Home located at 5625 N.E. Fremont St., Portland, OR 97213. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Tri-City Baptist Temple located at 18025 Webster Rd., Gladstone, OR 97027.
