In memory of
Kathleen (Ginty) O’Shea, 82, of Springfield passed away February 11, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Cusack) Ginty, was born in Doohoma, County Mayo, Ireland on August 20, 1936. Kathleen was an avid reader, enjoyed Irish music and was a member of the John Boyle O’Reilly Club. Above all, she loved taking care of her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Patrick Ginty, William Ginty, Phelim Ginty, Peter Ginty, Daniel Ginty, and Michael Ginty; and her sisters, Nora Meenaghan and Sheila Ginty. Kathleen will be missed by all who knew her, including her beloved husband, Stephen O’Shea; her children, Bridget Burris and her husband Gary of West Springfield, Maureen Ellington and her husband Greg of Murrells Inlet, SC, Kathleen Long and her husband John of Springfield, Stephen O’Shea and his wife Dina of Monson, Sheila Sabadosa and her husband Bill of Feeding Hills, and Sean O’Shea and his wife Sarah of Chicopee; her brother and his wife, Terence and Bridget Ginty of England; her sisters , Mary McCormick of Ireland, Eileen Ginty and her husband Ben of Ireland, Teresa Begley of West Springfield, Pauline Connelly and her husband Tony of Ireland, Anna Doogan and her husband Gerry of Ireland, and Margaret McDonnell and her husband Ronald of Ireland; Bridget Ginty of Holyoke, Ethna Ginty of West Springfield, and Mary Ginty of Ireland. Her grandchildren, Shannon Terriaca and her husband James, Samantha Ormsby, Erin Ormsby, Meghan Ormsby, Ryan Ellington, Tara Ellington, Zachary Sabadosa, Austin Sabadosa, Stephen O’Shea, William Visneau and his partner Molly McNamara, Laura Visneau and her partner Marcus Clay and Bailey O’Shea; her great grandchildren, Charlotte and Madison Visneau, Malakai and Dorian Clay; and many extended family members and friends. Visiting Hours for Kathleen will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 4PM to 8PM at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Friends are invited to meet directly at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Blvd., Springfield on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10AM for her Funeral Mass. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
