JUDSON HINE Jr.
HINE, JR., JUDSON SEAVER, 67 Hawthorne - Judson S. Hine, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on August 21, 2014. Born November 21, 1946 in Montclair, NJ, he moved to Melbourne as a young boy. While serving an enlistment in the US Navy as a musician, he met the person that he would share the rest of his life with, Marsha Kesser. Upon his discharge they moved to Gainesville, where he studied at the University of Florida. He worked for the US Postal Service for 34 years which was followed by 10 years with LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services. Jud loved tending to his garden, working in his woodshop, riding his garden tractor and being outside tending to his chickens on his farm. He was a former Boy Scout leader and a Gator all the way. His love of the outdoors extended to many camping trips with friends and family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, sons Jeremy (Nancy) of Jonesville, Michael of Lake City, a grandson, Jacoby of Jonesville, a sister, Beth Bloodsworth of Hawthorne, a brother, Frank DeRiancho of Montrose, PA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judson S. Hine, Sr. and Elizabeth Filweber, as well as a brother William Haynes and his step-father, Elwood Haynes. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Congregation B'nai Israel, 3830 NW 16th Blvd, with Rabbi David Kaiman officiating. Interment will follow in B'nai Israel Cemetery, at the corner of University and Waldo Roads. The family is very grateful to Dr. Geraldine Bichier and her staff of Haven Hospice for their excellent medical care and kindness to their father. They are also extremely appreciative of the many healthcare professionals of Shands Hospital providing the care and therapy to Jud.
