In memory of
Joyce Miller
Joyce Luella Miller Rupert died early Saturday morning at her residence in Frey Village. She has joined her beloved husband of 57 years, Delbert Ellsworth in eternal peace. Born in Huntingdon County in 1933, Joyce was the youngest daughter to Huldah and Ray Miller. Her seven siblings all preceded her in death. She cherished fond and happy memories of growing up on a dairy farm in Huntingdon County and attending the one-room Bridge School. Upon graduation, she worked for Blair Company in Alexandria, PA. She later worked as a school secretary for Central Dauphin School District until her retirement in 1997. Joyce was an avid hockey fan and enthusiastically cheered on the Hershey Bears and Philadelphia Flyers. With her husband she enjoyed traveling "road-trips", both long and short, and together they crisscrossed the United States and Canada numerous times. She enjoyed spending time with her family and relished opportunities to cook and bake for family gatherings. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Kettering of Lake Wallenpaupack and two granddaughters, Regina and Vanessa, and her son Timothy Rupert of West Hanover and grandson, Michael. Also surviving are countless nieces, nephews and cousins living around the world. Joyce was a member of the Chambers Hill United Methodist Church and a former member of the Camp Curtin-Mitchell Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary for American Legion Post 520 and was a Poll worker for elections at the Chambers Hill Fire Hall. The Rupert family thanks the entire staff of Frey Village for their loving care given to Joyce and their support shown to her family throughout the duration of her illness. Due to the circumstances of these times, no services will be held at this time. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association online at alz.org or by mail at 225 North Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or Chambers Hill UMC at 6300 Chambers Hill Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111, or Frey Village Benevolence Fund at 1020 North Union Street, Middletown, PA 17057. www.pennlive.com/obits
