In memory of
Joy Denton Martin Nixon
Having lived well into 93 years, Joy Nixon died June 30, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken Nixon. She will be greatly missed. Throughout her successful career many benefitted from and enjoyed her quick mind, dependability and sense of humor. Her extended family included many deep and loving friendships complete with hugs and laughs. She was so proud of them. All knew they had a champion and advocate in her. She enjoyed azaleas, roses, gardening, sunshine, Auburn football, SEC football, the NFL along with seasonal ice hockey and soccer. Over the years many referees and some coaches have benefited from her instructions. She is survived by her children, Cherie Feenker, Wayne Feenker (Linka), Steven Feenker, and Janet Sibley (Mike) and her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to Greater Birmingham Humane Society or to Shelby Humane. Please join family and friends for a gathering August 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at John's-Ridout's Funeral Parlor at 2116 University Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35233.
