Joseph William Loftus
Joseph William Loftus Asheville, North Carolina - Peacefully on August 5, 2019 at the age of 57 after a long, courageous struggle with MELAS syndrome - a multisystem and progressive neurodegenerative disorder. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dawn (Cutler) Loftus, daughter Alaina and son-in-law, Luke Campbell of Vermont, parents John and Dolores Loftus of Scottsville, sisters Ann (Paul) Triplett of Texas, Mary (Thomas) Wedegaertner of North Carolina and Margaret (Johnathan Durham) Loftus of Vermont; brothers Thomas (Becky Davis) Loftus of Vermont and twins, James (Nancy Terepka) Loftus of Rochester and John (Karen Predmore) Loftus of Penfield; in-laws, Marga and David Cutler of Florida, sisters-in-law, Diane Cutler of Idaho and Lynn (John) Volpato of Florida and many nieces and nephews. For 17 years Joe and Dawn owned and operated Lester Levin, Inc., supplier of printing and legal supplies to attorneys in Western New York, and also owned a cleaning service for several years before retiring to North Carolina 12 years ago. Joe will be remembered for his quick wit, intelligence, writing ability and love of dogs. A private graveside service took place yesterday at Holy Angels cemetery in Scottsville.
