Joseph Puzio of Clifton age 91
PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Joseph "The Tiger" J. Puzio, 91, of Clifton, who died on Saturday, October 13, 2012. He was the father of Thomas of this township. Born in Passaic, Mr. Puzio lived there and in Wallington before moving to Clifton 63 years ago. He was the owner of Puzio's Family Restaurant, Union. Also, he was the director of College Food Service Industrial Catering for Manhattan College, New York, and William Paterson College, Wayne. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member and past commander of Pavlik-Koster Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2640, Wallington. He was a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church, Clifton, where he was a member of the Leisure Club. He was a member of the Clifton Republican Club. And, he was a musician with the Krakowiaki Family Orchestra and the Joey Parker Orchestra. Services were Tuesday at the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton, followed by Mass at St. Paul's R.C. Church. Mr. Puzio also is survived by his wife, the former Genevieve Bogacz; his daughter, Patricia Balavender of South Orange; his brothers, Edward of Clifton, and Stanley of Indiana; his sister, Stacy Wiseman of Indiana; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Chester.
