John Michael "Mike" Sullivan, Sr., age 76, passed away peacefully on Jan 2, 2019 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jennifer Rackley Sullivan, by his daughter, Shannon Sullivan Blake, (husband John) and their children Alexandra and Connor Blake; by his son John Michael Sullivan, Jr, (wife Dawne) and their children Brynne and Cole Sullivan; and his brother, Robert Charles Sullivan, Jr. (wife Teri), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was born Dec. 3, 1942 in Mineral Wells, TX to Robert Charles Sullivan, Sr. and Cecilia Jeanette Edmondson Sullivan. He graduated from Eastern Hills High School, Ft. Worth, TX and Stephen F. Austin State University. He earned a J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law and entered private practice. The State Bar of Texas recently recognized his 50 years of service. Mike had a great sense of humor and a strong sense of justice. He was young at heart and always exhibited a fierce loyalty toward family and friends. Mike loved to hunt and fish when he was younger and in later years he could be found on the golf course with his buddies several times a week. Nothing made him prouder than watching his grandchildren play sports and perform on the stage. The family would like to thank Dr. Scott W. Yates and his staff for their amazing care over the past 18 years enabling Mike to enjoy a full life with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Creekwood United Methodist Church, on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at 2pm with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, Mike requested donations be made to Creekwood United Methodist Church, 261 Country Club Rd, Allen, TX 75002 to their youth and children's mission trip fund.
