John Leo Renswick
John Leo Renswick Rancho Mirage - October 17, 1922 - November 9, 2018 John was born in Detroit, Michigan and eventually the family moved to Dearborn. He attended Millian Elementary and Lanny Jr. High School. Parents were Leo Renswick and Amanda Renas Renswick. He had three siblings and all of his siblings and parents pre-deceased him in death. There are many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that he has never met. John served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946, in San Diego. After being discharged he attended a Jr. College and then Wayne State University, graduating in 1953. John moved to California in 1957, said the winters were too cold, in Michigan. He married twice before; once to Eloise in 1965, she passed in 1967 and then to Kathryn in 1977, she passed in 1989. He had a good artistic eye and was painting always, thought it was too easy for him .... he would paint just to fill in a frame. Initially after college in was a school teacher then got in to antiques and had a shop on La Cienega, for many years. John marries J. Roland Burleigh on July 2, 2013, who had been together for a long time, before. John will be greatly missed by all and there will be no memorial services - John's wishes. John's ashes have been interred at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, CA.
