In memory of
John Franklin "Frank" WILKINSON
WILKINSON, John Franklin "Frank" John Franklin "Frank" Wilkinson passed away peacefully August 27, 2018 at the age of 85. Frank was born in High River, Alberta Canada to Ira and Clara Wilkinson. Frank was one of six children, and would often go to work with his father as a logger. Frank moved to Washington at the age of five. He graduated from Mead High School where he excelled at baseball and basketball. After high school, Frank met his future wife, Marian, at a grange dance in Elk, WA. They married in 1952 and had three children. Frank worked for a time at Darigold where he delivered milk and later became a sales manager. After that, Frank owned Northwest Refrigeration for several years before selling it to his son when he retired. Frank also owned race horses with his brother-in-law and friend Al Crisp. You could often find them at the old Playfair Racetrack in Spokane. Frank loved to travel, fish and watch sports, but most of all Frank loved spending time with his family and friends, and the gifts he bestowed them with was a legacy of humor, and integrity, and unconditional love. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers Hugh and Eugene, his three sisters Floy Hitchner, Edna Raap, and Grace Merrill. He is survived by beloved wife of 66 years, Marian; his son Ken (Kari), his daughters Sandra "Sandi" Daiger and Laura "Lori" Wilkinson; nine grandchildren, Chris (Ashley), Nick, Jacob and Derek Wilkinson, Danica Mazenko, Paige (KC) Poindexter, Kendra (Taylor) Jordan, Troy and Kelly Daiger, four great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Teddy Bear. Frank's wish was there be no funeral service, so we will celebrate his life instead on a Coeur d'Alene Resort cruise on September 29 boarding between 4:30 and 5 pm. An RSVP is requested by the family for those wishing to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
