Joanne Marie ( Brothen ) Holt La Quinta - Joanne Marie ( Brothen ) Holt passed away peacefully in her La Quinta, Ca. home on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 at the age of 89. She is survived by her five children, Erick, Karl, Kristine, Karen & Thor, along with her six grandchildren & one great-grandchild. Joanne was a teacher who obtained her master's degree to assist children with reading disabilities. She and our father Ray retired to Sunriver, Oregon from California in 1989. They were both originally from Minnesota; he passed away in 2005, after they had been happily married for 53 loving years. Joanne & Ray both loved the outdoors, reading & their retrievers! Joanne was a wonderful wife, mother, friend, and a fabulous cook! ( Our father was her biggest fan. ) In spite of her amazing culinary skills and having five children, she was able to maintain her weight of 118 pounds throughout her entire life; she was very proud of this. Good for you mom!!! She enjoyed doing so many things that it is impossible to list them all. She is now with our dad and all of their dogs again, smiling and walking on the golf course. She will be greatly missed!
