Jeffrey Allen Swope LOWER MT. BETHEL Jeffrey Allen Swope, 66, of Lower Mt. Bethel Twp., PA, passed away suddenly of natural causes on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at his residence. Jeffrey was born in Lock Haven, PA, on March 29, 1952, a son of Rita (Butz) Swope of Hellertown, PA, and the late Henry William Swope. He was the husband of Danielle A. (Nicholas) Swope. They celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary last February 14. He was a 1970 graduate of Bangor High School and was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. He was also a 1975 graduate of East Stroudsburg University with a bachelor's degree in sociology. Jeffrey was most recently employed as a part-time driver for Easton Coach Co. in Forks Twp., PA. Prior to that, he was employed as a production manager at the former Pocono Foods in Mt. Bethel, PA, and then he was the proprietor of the Martin Creek Pioneer Store from 2010 to 2016. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, exercising, cheering on his Ohio State Buckeyes golf, bowling and music. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Martins Creek, PA. Jeffrey was also a member of the Hunter-Martin Museum in Martins Creek and a member of the Belvidere Bowling League. In addition to his mother, Rita, and wife, Danielle, Jeffrey is survived by two sons, Eric Swope, husband of Megan, and Jeffrey Swope, husband of Kari; one brother, John Swope, husband of Donna, and four grandchildren, Noah Post, and Gavin, Justin and Xander Swope. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 8, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the James J. Palmeri Funeral Home, 6602 Alpha Ave., Martins Creek, PA 18063. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Louise Williams officiating. Burial will be held at Church Hill Cemetery, Martins Creek.
