James Shanley
James (Jim) C. Shanley died unexpectedly at the age of 73 from a heart attack on December 9, 2017. He was the dear son of the late Frank and the late Anne Shanley (nee Barlow), husband of the late Donna Elyse Shanley (nee Miller) and dear brother of Michael (Dianne) Shanley, the late Peter Shanley, the late John (Mary) Shanley, and the late Anne Marie Shanley. Jim is also survived by his nephew Raymond (Debbie Rafael) Shanley, Bonnie Doolittle, his companion of six years, and numerous cousins both in the United States and in Ireland. Jim enjoyed fine dining and travel. He was a graduate of DePaul University undergraduate and law schools and took pleasure in the practice of corporate tax law. Jim served in the US Army in Germany for two years in the late 60's. Visitation will be at 9:00 am with the funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Old St. Patrick's Church, 700 West Adams Street, Chicago, IL on Friday, December 15th.
