age 64 of Twinsburg passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 after a 7-month courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Debra Sue (nee Thompson). He is preceded in death by parents, Joe and Donna Tobak and sister, Renee Tobak Archer. James previously worked at the Twinsburg Police Department retiring after 34 years as a Sergeant and most recently worked as a Deputy Sheriff at the Portage County Courthouse. Jim will be remembered for his sense of humor and wit. He always wanted to make you laugh. He will be dearly missed by his chihuahuas Maggie and Titi. Jim loved working in the yard and on home projects. He was a member of Twinsburg Summit Lodge #213 F. & A.M., Summit-Baker Chapter #74 Royal Arch Masons, Allenby Commandry #73 Knights Templars, Brecksville Chapter #537 Ohio Eastern Star and Portage County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #70. The family will receive friends 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2020 at JOHNSON-ROMITO FUNERAL HOME, 9819 Darrow Road (Corner of Rt. 91 and Post Road), Twinsburg, OH (330) 425-2244 where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in James' name to Christ United Methodist Church, 3625 West 138th Street, Cleveland, OH 44111. www.johnsonromito.com
