BURLINGTON- Mr. James Ernest Weatherford, age 81, of Burlington, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at White Oak Manor after one year of failing health. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Claude Thomas Weatherford and the late Nancy Princeollie Law Weatherford. He was employed by vocational trades. James is survived by his sister, Shelby Cheek; brother, Alvis B. Weatherford and wife, Emma; three nieces, Tammy C. Hinshaw and husband, Kerry, Teresa C. Leavens and husband, Ross and Brandy W. Diana; nephew, Michael T. Cheek, Sr. and wife, Tammy; great niece, Shaylin Diana; and four great nephews, Isaac Leavens, Elliot Leavens, Michael Cheek, Jr. and Matthew Cheek. There will be a private burial on Friday, March 27, 2020 and the family will be having a memorial service at a later date. Due to the evolving Covid-19 virus situation, for the concerns of family and friends we are not conducting public services or visitations.
