Died June 1, 2011 James Lanier Darwin III of Rimrock, Ariz., died suddenly June 1 at his home, which he had built some years ago with his own hands. He was born in 1939 in Huntsville to James and Polly Darwin. Jim served God, his family and his country with devotion. He had a varied career. He worked as a cowboy for ten years on the Apache Maid and Mahan ranches in Northern Arizona. Later he had a gunsmith business and also served as master craftsman and machinist at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Ariz., for many years. James is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Robert Darwin, Kenny Darwin and wife Amy, and Sherry Rossman and husband John; two grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Johnson and husband Larry of Huntsville.
