Hoyt Edward Kremer
Kremer, Hoyt Edward Grand Rapids, MI Hoyt Edward Kremer passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2019. He left this earth to reunite with the Lord and his wife of 67 years, Mary Ann (Glass) Kremer, who preceded him in death on October 13, 2012. Hoyt was born in Grand Rapids in 1922 and was a lifelong residenthe loved his hometown and his neighbors. While attending Ottawa Hills High School, Hoyt met his high school sweetheart and forever love, Mary Ann. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a master's degree in Engineering and had a long career as an Engineer for Rapistan. He also proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in Texas. Hoyt loved traveling the world with Mary Ann, being a hobbyist in automobile auctioneering, and being a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He also loved hosting Thanksgiving Dinner. Many a fond memory was had for generations of Kremers and Bartons at Hoyt's Thanksgiving table. He always carved the turkey, while enjoying the company of his loved ones. There were movies, laughter, and Mary Ann's homemade pies after dinner. There's a sound, smell, and feeling of warmth that will remain with his surviving niece and nephews and their families when looking back on those holidays together. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 1:00 PM, at Westminster Presbyterian Church (47 Jefferson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503), with visitation one hour prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 PM. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Memorial Trust Fund of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
