Herbert Hicks Replogle Jr.
Herbert Hicks Replogle, Jr. Jackson - Herbert Hicks Replogle, Jr., age 91 of Jackson, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 in Jackson, TN. Herbert was born on July 16, 1928 in Jackson, TN to the late Herbert H. Replogle, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Cash Replogle. He retired as an Engineer for the Illinois Central Railroad and also as a Surveyor with the State. Herbert was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army National Guard as Master Sergeant of the 82nd Airborne Division and the 376th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion. Herbert enjoyed many hobbies. As a young man he loved sports, cars, roller skating, bowling, and being a lifeguard. In later years he enjoyed farming, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. They were the light of his life. He was also well known for his love and compassion for animals. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Helen Allison Fairchild, Virginia Smith, and Joyce Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Holly Replogle Cooke (Nathan) and his grandchildren, Sydney Cooke and Masen Cooke of Medina, TN, his sisters Wilma Scruggs of Frankfort, KY and Nancy Barnes (Jimmy) of Jackson, TN and his brother Jerry Replogle (Nancy) of Salisbury, NC. He also leaves behind his long time partner of 37 years, Linda Morris of Jackson, TN, stepdaughters Stacy Blurton (Gary), Lisa Bedwell, Chrystal Barnes (Daniel), Colette Williams (Brad), Alisa Smith, and their families. He was loved by so many. The family will receive friends and loved ones at a visitation to be held on Monday evening, September 9, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Bro. Mark Cagle of Malesus Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Medina, TN with full military honors. Active pallbearers to serve will be Tanner Newman, Logan Blurton, Corey Bedwell, Daniel Barnes, Greg Sharrow, and Kyle Williams. George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel, (731) 427-5555
