Henry Donald "Don" Elster
Elster, Henry Donald "Don" Don Elster, age 83 of Huntington Beach passed on December 25, 2018. He is survived by his wife Clarrinda and his 4 sons, Michael, Patrick, Steven and Kevin, his 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was born December 27, 1934 in Lead, South Dakota. Don graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1956 and moved to California shortly thereafter where he was a banking executive for over 30 years with United California Bank (later Wells Fargo). He opened their flagship California branch in Palos Verdes and successfully guided it as Vice President for many years. Don loved baseball and was a huge Dodgers fan going back to the Brooklyn days. He was a Rams and University of Wisconsin fan. He was a very good piano player and a great trumpet player and often played with friends in many public events in South Dakota. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. There will be a memorial gathering held in their Huntington Beach home on January 11th at 2:00pm.
