Harry Douglas Pullin Jr
Harry Douglas Pullin Jr, age 78, of Conroe, Texas passed away on June 3, 2018. He was born on Saturday, September 16, 1939 in Whitsett, Texas to Harry D. and Ruth (Smith) Pullin Sr. Douglas was raised in Whitsett where his love for ranching, hunting, and the outdoors began. He graduated from Southwest Texas State College in 1961 with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and upon graduation enlisted in the Air Force and eventually reached the rank of Lt. Colonel. He served two tours as a pilot in the Vietnam War, and his service took him from Florida to Alaska. After retiring from his time in the Air Force, Douglas began his second career as a Quarter Horse trainer, which led him back to his love of ranching. He is survived by his wife, Kirsten Pullin; sons, Craig and Brent Pullin, and daughters, Laurie Jackson, Darcy Titus, Wendy Blasi, and Stefanie Austin. He is also survived by his siblings David Pullin and Marian Posey. He leaves behind many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Douglas was preceded in death by wife Bobbie Pullin, his parents Harry D. and Ruth (Smith) Pullin Sr., and sister, Jean Bensmiller. Memorial services will be held, Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at Whitsett Baptist Church. Following the services, there will be a wake at the Whitsett Community Center and all are welcome to help celebrate the life of Douglas.
