Gregg Christy (Crazy), 60, passed away on March 6, 2009, after a year long fight with cancer. Born in Portland, Maine to Hazel Dennison, who preceded him in death. Gregg, a U.S. Army veteran, served in the 101st Airborne combat infantry in Vietnam. After moving to New Smyrna Beach in 1990, he was active in the mentorship program with both the middle school & high school. He also was an active member of the Men's garden club. He loved skydiving, harley riding, gardening, his wife, family and his country. Gregg is survived by Kathleen, his loving wife; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Maggie Christy; daughter & son-in-law, Noel & Brent Hamilton, Maine; son, Jonathan Rogers, Maine; grandchildren, Anthony, Samantha, Isabelle, Maine; grandson, Jack Kent Christy, Tampa; brother, Nick Christy, New York; aunt, Honey, Maine; nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the VFW Post 1590, where he was a life member. His interment will be at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on April 3, 2009 at 2:30 pm in a private ceremony.
