Georgia McKinney Evansville, Ind. - Georgia McKinney, 89, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Heritage Center. Georgia was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 11, 1930 to the late George and Agnes (VanWinkle) McKinney. In Georgia's younger years, she was an avid badminton player. She worked as the bookkeeper at Maley and Wertz Lumber for 25 years and went on to retire from Riverside Oil. Georgia dearly loved her longhaired dachshund, "Precious Baby." She was a member of New Life Ministries and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Georgia is survived by her lifetime friends, Terry Bolin and Charles Johnson; by her niece, Judith Rickard; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; her lifetime companion, Lenora Wheeler, and by her sister, Betty Matthews. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society, P.O.
